Act Up-Paris : association française de lutte contre le Sida issue de la communauté homosexuelle, créée en 1989. La commission Nord/Sud s’y préoccupe depuis longtemps déjà des questions d’accès aux traitements dans les pays du Sud.

ReMeD : Réseau Médicaments et Développement, réseau international de professionnels (pharmaciens, médecins, gestionnaires, économistes, etc…). Ses activités ont pour but de contribuer à améliorer la disponibilité, la qualité et le bon usage des médicaments notamment en Afrique.

ACT UP-Philadephia : Aids Coalition To Unleash Power, association américaine de personnes atteintes, pour la défense des droits des personnes vivants avec le VIH/Sida. Leur action est internationale.

ANSS : Association Nationale de personnes atteintes du Burundi, travaillant essentiellement dans une optique de prise en charge communautaire extra-hospitalière. Elle assure aussi des fonctions d’accueil, de dépistage, de conseil, de prise en charge médicale, psychosociale et matérielle.

Comité Burkinabè : comité formé au Burkina Faso pour participer à l'organisation du sommet. Il comprend des membres d’institutions nationales, des médecins engagés dans la lutte contre le sida et des représentants d’associations, telles que AAS (Association African Solidarité) et le CIC Doc (Centre d’Information, de Conseil de Documentation sur le SIDA et la tubercuose)

HAI : Health Action International, réseau international composé de plus 180 associations de santé, de développement et de défense du public travaillant à promouvoir l’usage rationnel et l’éthique du médicament, la transparence et les alternatives médicales et les solutions aux problèmes de santé dans le monde.

MSF : Médecin Sans Frontières, association organisée en réseau international, crée en 1971. Son objectif est d’apporter une aide médicale à des populations éprouvées par des situations de crise et de témoigner de ces situations. L’association s’appuie sur l’expérience professionnelle des Médecins Sans Frontières, et l’engagement de volontaires parmi les populations.

Oxfam GB : Organisation pour le développement, et la mise en oeuvre de solutions durables pour la souffrance et la pauvreté dans le monde. Oxfam GB pense que chaque être humain a droit à une vie digne, et travaille avec des communautés défavorisées, des partenaires locaux et des volontaires pour le rendre possible.

Planet Africa : People Living with Aids NETwork, Africa. Réseau visant à faciliter et à développer les échanges et la communication entre associations de personnes atteintes par le VIH/Sida de différents pays d’Afrique. Il s’agit de renforcer l’autonomie et la capacité d’action des personnes atteintes et d’élaborer et de promouvoir des exigences communes.

RSB : Rennaissance Santé Bouake, association de personnes atteintes de Côte d’Ivoire assurant une activité majeure dans le domaine de la prévention comme dans celui de la prise en charge des malades du Sida, par le biais entre autres de l’aide à domicile et d’un centre de transit pour les malades.

RAP+ : Réseau Africain des Personnes avec le VIH/sida, réseau d’associations de personnes atteintes qui constitue un moyen de soutien mutuel de ses membres, d’échange d’idées, d’expériences et de ressources.

TAC : Treatment Action Campaign, association de personnes atteintes d’Afrique du Sud créée en 1998. Son action se concentre sur l’accès aux traitements, par la diffusion de l’information et l’intelligence des enjeux de qualité, de coût et d’usage des traitements VIH, en luttant contre l’idée selon laquelle le Sida constitue une sentence de mort.

Act Up-Paris : French association fighting AIDS, originating from the Gay and Lesbian community, created in 1989. The North/South Commitee has been working for some time on the problem of access to AIDS treatments in the countries of the South.

Planet Africa : People Living with Aids NETwork, Africa. Association aiming to facilitate and develop exchanges between associations of people affected with HIV/AIDS in various countries of Africa on the one hand, and between those associations and Western activist groups on the other hand. It acts to strengthen the autonomy and capacity for action of the people affected and to work out and promote common requirements by setting up electronic means of communication and a policy of construction and exchange of information within this network.

WOFAK : Women Fighting Aids in Kenya, a coalition of associations of women affected by HIV, associations focusing on HIV disease treatment, and of activists working primarily from a social perspective, whose action is directed towards support for those affected and orphans.

ANSS : National Association of People Affected of Burundi, working primarily from a point of view of assumption of community responsibility outside of hospitals. It also ensures the functions of reception, screening, advice and the assumption of medical, psychosocial and material responsibility.

TAC : Treatment Action Campaign, association of people affected in South Africa, created in 1998. Its action focuses on access to treatment, by the diffusion of information and knowledge of the stakes of quality, cost and use of treatments for HIV, while fighting against the idea that AIDS constitutes a death sentence.

RSB : Health Rennaissance Bouake, association of people affected in the Ivory Coast, ensuring a major activity in the field of the prevention as well as assumption of responsibility for AIDS patients, by means, among others, of home help and a transit center for AIDS patients.

ICW : International Community of Women living with HIV/AIDS. International association of women affected, fighting against isolation of HIV-seropositive women by controlling the stakes and self-sufficiency within the framework of exchange of information and mutual support. It is aimed at allowing seropositive women to be involved in the making of local, national and international decisions that have an impact on their lives.

The Burkinian Commitee : formed in Burkina Faso to participate at the summit. It includes members of national institutions, doctors engaged in the fight against AIDS and representatives of associations, such as Association African Solidarité (AAS) and CIC DOC.

HAI : Health Action International is a network made up of more than 180 health associations, develop and defend the working public, to promote the rational and ethical use of medicines.
